Its hoppers can be swapped to allow you to experiment with different blends on the fly and its profiles mean that you can pick up exactly where you left off. It's also less expensive than capsule machines and utilizes real coffee beans instead of pre-ground.

1. Smeg BCC02

cuisinart-grind-and-brew-plus-bean-to-cup-filter-coffee-maker-dgb900bcu-silver-16234.jpgThis sleek, compact, and striking machine, created by the Milan-based firm Deep Design combines the brand's retro aesthetic with cutting-edge technology. The machine is able to handle all the stages of making coffee from grinding beans to making a puck, then making milk into a texturing, before dispensing the right volume.

The machine also sports a stylish brushed aluminium front and comes in a choice of red, black or taupe, so it's a great fit for most kitchen designs. The machine is not without faults however. Most reviewers found that it was a bit expensive for a cup-to- bean maker (and isn't equipped with a pitcher of milk).

There were also plenty of glowing reviews of the quality of the coffee as well as the ease of using this machine. The digital display provides information and step-bystep instructions throughout the entire process of brewing that will help you perfect your drink each time. The machine even allows you to adjust the size of your grind if that's not what you want. It's like having a personal barista in your own home (minus Harry Potter's invisibility cloak and Elon Musk's rocket-building skills).

If you prefer drinks with milk this model comes with an adjustable steam wand up and down to accommodate all drinking vessels, but not the Viking's drinking horn. We were impressed by the speed and efficiency of the frothing procedure, too. It also produces a delicious espresso, with a great crema and full flavor despite its compact size.

The BCC02 is a great all-rounder. It's quiet and efficient, and provides excellent value for money with its current price of PS499. Its only real drawback is the fact that it does not offer the same level of customisation as other bean to cup models we've tried. It has a 15 bar pump, rather than the usual 19 bars that aren't as efficient for producing quality espressos. But other than that it's a fantastic bean-to-cup machine for those who prefer their coffee strong and dark. Click here to view Lavazza's great deal.

Users have also reported being impressed by the speed of the machine. They've said that it is able to make their drinks faster than other machines they have used. Another advantage is that it will alert you when one of its hoppers is almost empty, so you do not get caught running out of your favorite beverage.

The only thing that could be a negative for some individuals is the price. It's not inexpensive, with prices that are close to PS999. It's still cheaper than comparable Jura machines that have the same number features.

The Barista TS Smart is backed up by an extensive warranty that provides two years of protection. This is a greater warranty than the typical one-year warranty. It's a mark of confidence from the manufacturer. The machine comes with an cleaning tablet, as well as an descaler. This makes it easy to maintain the machine.
