JulyHow To Outsmart Your Boss On Robot Vacuum Mop Pet Hair
The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
For pets with shedding fur, a robot vacuum/mop combo is one of the best robot vacuum for pet hair and carpet floor cleaning options. The machine can vacuum and mop and even dry and clean its own dual mop pads.
It also has 8,000Pa suction, the highest of any robot we've examined. It also can save your home's maps and schedule cleaning schedules using its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is equipped with Ecovacs' new AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that offers better mapping and obstacle avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'd find in self-driving cars and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This means more precise mapping as well as faster response time and higher cleaning accuracy.
It also comes with a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub hard spots than traditional mopping. In my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in less than a second and was ready to go. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models that seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms and also create "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water before beginning another cleaning task.
Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is a breeze to set up and begin using. Simply snap the dock into place connect it to the power outlet and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It takes just a few minutes. You can then launch the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able dive into the settings and modify my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, incorporating zones that are restricted to sweep and mop and reworking my furniture layouts, and much more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored highly in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and also was near-perfect in its results for edge and crevices cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
The EcoVACS T10 Omni is a powerful mopping and vacuum cleaner. It is the most advanced of the T-line of the brand and comes with a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that utilizes dual-spinning brushes to provide better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a unique natural language processing tech that lets it respond to a range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you plan your home, make cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The T10 Omni's biggest flaw is that it's unable to switch between vacuuming and mopping in a single operation. The two modes require you attach and remove the mop heads as needed which is great for most homes, but not a good fit for people who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that produces impressive results. It was able to vacuum up more than 96% of the particles we tossed at it on our hardwood floors which is an impressive performance. It did an excellent job on tiles and carpets and removed the majority of dirt.
This robot vacuum and mops has large docking systems that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag that's easy to replace and hot air drying for fast and simple maintenance. It also has a huge water tank that permits more frequent rinses and dries between mopping runs.
Deebot T10 has a wash tray that is built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads while using them. However, it doesn't come with an open tray, meaning that dirty water, dust, and other grime gradually build up on the bottom of the tray over time.
3. RoboVac X8 hybrid
This is the first model of mopping from Anker which is well-known for its robot vacuums. It has enhanced intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts to the surface you are cleaning. It's a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner, even if it doesn't exactly live up to its promise to be the ultimate source for floor cleaning.
The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape with sweeping wheels, as well as a raised area for sensors. On the other side there's a motorized floorbrush and a single side brush that moves dust from the edges into the main path of its' mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to get under sofas and chairs.
Its mapping system is reasonably sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of hitting objects, including its own charging station, and isn't very good at navigating over carpets. It was capable of removing pet hair from floors that were bare however, and in our tests, it took in 89.5 percent of cat litter - a figure that is higher than all but the most powerful robots we've tested.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, however it also has physical buttons on its base. These buttons let you select the cleaning mode, or turn the robot off/on. These buttons can be used to establish no-go areas and access real-time maps. It's also a little chatty and will inform you of what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or alert you if something is wrong.
4. ILIFE A4s
This model of high-tech vacuum can remove pet hair, kibble, and other debris with great effectiveness. It also moves effortlessly around furniture legs. It comes with a set of features that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and is best controlled using the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and overall maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with carpet, hard carpet and flooring, however it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck by toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.
In our test of hardwood floors and kibble it performed well and was able to pick up everything from one grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in one sweep. It did have some issues with rugs however, generally speaking the vacuum cleaner is ideal for rooms with different flooring types as well as a mixture of pets.
It's not cheap, but if you can afford it, it's an excellent buy for those who want to leave their home completely free to perform other tasks or to take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that increases suction to take on the most difficult spills or dirt. It also includes a battery-powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.
This budget-friendly robot from a popular brand is the cheapest we've tested and provides exceptional value for the money. The basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This is why it's less effective as other models on this list. However, it's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners and its mopping mode performed well during our tests it picked up pet hair and other debris with ease.
5. Shark iQ
Shark IQ Robot Vacuum: Self-Cleaning Advanced Navigation's iQ may not appear as sturdy however it is superior in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less efficiently and does a decent job on carpets with low pile and also utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide better maneuverability. It also lets you assign it to a specific room, and its advanced set of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It also allows you to stop and restart cleaning sessions which is ideal for homes that have pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can hold up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It also comes with an assortment of side brushes that are angled to go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander, and allergens for cleaner air.
The iQ robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It has an app for smartphones that lets you change the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app lets you view the remaining battery life of the iQ, and send push notifications in the event of any problems during a cleaning session. You can control it using your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't own either of these devices, you can mark areas by using physical boundary markers.
The iQ can do a decent job of cleaning floors and doing a fair job on shaggy and low-pile carpet however it lacks the same level of autonomy as our top picks. It's also costly and its recurring cost can increase.
