This Neato is a great option for those who want to take advantage of the convenience of a robot vacuum cleaner without having to sacrifice too much in terms of performance. The D4 is a great choice for those who want an upright vacuum that has a lot of features. It comes with nifty navigation and mapping tools along with smart home integration, and an easy-to-use app.

You can set up the bot by connecting it to its base, and connecting it to your home Wi Fi network. After that, the Neato application will guide you through the initial configuration (linking to Wi-Fi and calling the D4, etc.). Once the D4 is fully charged, you'll be able to start cleaning.

Once you've got the D4 up and running, you can make use of the app to set up an automatic schedule or manually begin a clean anytime you like. You can also make use of your voice to control it via Google Home or Amazon Alexa. If you have an Apple Watch you can start cleaning by tapping the wrist.

In our tests this model was able to clean well on carpeted and hard flooring and picked up 91.3 percent of the debris in serpentine pathways. The 980 retails at PS899/$899, though it's often cheaper if you shop around on the internet (John Lewis or Amazon US are both excellent places to begin).

iRobot's latest robot has the highest level of obstacle avoidance of any Roomba we've tested because of its front-facing camera and laser sensor. This enables it to avoid wires and pet feces more effectively than the Roborock S6 MaxV, Ecovacs N8 Pro, and the other robotic vacuums that we've tested.

It's also the most powerful vacuum, able of grabbing messes with deeper debris and larger pet hair, unlike other mid-range models like the Roomba 960. This is because of the cleaner's bigger counter-rotating brushes, as well as a stronger motor that can pull more suction power.

The Roomba 995 is iRobot’s least expensive vacuum, with recharge and resume. However, it does not have the auto-empty feature that the I6+ or I7 offer. It's not equipped with the iAdapt navigation 2.0 and the camera used by the I7 to locate objects and avoid obstructions.
